Bedroom Makeovers!

This weekend we're painting and decorating the children's rooms!  Well, I say we - to be honest, my husband will be doing most of the hard work, and I'll be supervising and making cups of tea!  After all, I am 37 weeks pregnant and shouldn't really be up and down step ladders wielding a paint brush and roller!

We've been in this house for two years and the children's rooms have already been decorated since we moved in.  Now with the baby coming, the two oldest will be sharing the big room and the little room is going to become the baby's room.  This means painting over their lovely pink and blue rooms and going for something different!

My daughter's room looks like this.

My stepson's room looks like this.

This smaller room also doubles up as our computer room.

I must point out that these rooms are unusually tidy in preparation for the upcoming decorating work.  Normally they look more like a toy bomb has gone off and exploded barbies, cars and lego everywhere!

My husband's paperwork and coursework is usually strewn everywhere on the computer desk too - but we blitzed this and it's all been organised into files for going back into the room once the painting is complete.  I'm hoping we can invest in some shelving to put the paperwork in it's own place once and for all!

So this weekend is the ideal time for this job as my stepson is away on holiday with his Mum, and my daughter is having a sleepover at Granny's house to let us crack on with the decorating.  I'm hoping to make an early start on this and to get two coats of emulsion on the pink room today - I'll update you tomorrow as to our progress!

Best Wishes
Debbie
